Saola
Our story

The realest thing in Vietnam is also the hardest to find.

Our name comes from an animal almost no one has seen. We make Vietnam's equally rare real factories findable, with evidence.

Verified Vietnam supplier graph. Vietnam only. Verification-first.

Why we're called Saola

say it: "sow-LA"
A saola, half-glimpsed in the mist of the Annamite forest

Pseudoryx nghetinhensis, the saola, was unknown to science until 1992 and has barely been photographed in the wild since. It lives only in the forests along the Vietnam–Laos range. You cannot order one up; you cannot fake one; you find it only with people who know the ground. That is the whole metaphor.

Rare: capable, export-ready Vietnamese factories are far less common than directories pretend.
Real: an actual factory with an actual floor, not a trading shell or a transshipment front.
Genuinely Vietnamese: domestic factories that deserve the orders the boom keeps sending elsewhere.
Found only with local knowledge: exactly what we bring to the search.

And yes, we know what "unicorn" means in the other Vietnam. We'd rather earn it the boring way: one verified factory at a time.

Our mission

Be the trust layer between Western buyers and verified Vietnamese factories.

Our job is to answer one question with evidence: is this a real factory that can make your product and prove where it comes from? Every visit, document, and shipment record we verify joins one growing resource, the verified Vietnam supplier graph.

A tagged stack of carton proofs on a workbench, the printing hall stretching away beyond.

Every claim we verify starts on a floor like this.

Why now

Two forces converged in 2026. Both are on the public record, and together they make this the clearest moment Vietnam sourcing has ever had to get the truth right.

1. Origin became a question you have to answer.

Under the 2026 US trade regime, proving where goods come from became a compliance requirement, enforced by a 40% transshipment penalty, biannual CBP lists, and two Section 301 investigations that name Vietnam directly. No one owned the answer for Vietnam, so we are building it.

$153.2BUS imports from Vietnam in 2025, its largest export market. Every dollar of it can be asked to prove origin.

2. The factories that deserve the orders are being left behind.

Vietnam's exports boomed to $475B in 2025, yet foreign-invested factories produced 80.1% of Q1-2026 exports while domestic-sector exports fell 16.6%. Thousands of capable Vietnamese-owned factories remain invisible and unverified, and verification is the door we want to open for them.

80.1% vs −16.6%FDI share of Q1-2026 exports vs the fall in domestic-sector exports. The localization gap is widening, and it's exactly the gap we close.
The dated catalysts:
Apr 2025 · Vietnam Customs origin inspections (Decision 467)
Jul 2025 · 40% transshipment penalty + CBP risk lists
Mar 2026 · two Section 301 probes name Vietnam
Mid–late 2026 · Section 301 determinations land

We don't predict the politics. We make sure that whatever lands, your supplier can stand on evidence.

Why we can do this

We're early and we say so. But we can build verified ground truth in Vietnam because of a specific combination very few teams have.

A Southern-corridor network that opens factory doors

In Vietnam, deals move through quen biết (personal acquaintance) and Zalo, not cold email. Our founding team's roots in the Southern industrial corridor earn introductions to factory owners who don't answer outsiders, so visits that would take a stranger months happen in days.

Bilingual, bicultural, in one team

Native Vietnamese fluency and US buyer-side fluency live in the same room. We read the Vietnamese documents and understand the American compliance question; most competitors have only one side.

Real US tech and AI muscle

We ship production software and AI pipelines for translation, extraction, matching, and dossier generation. That is what lets a small bilingual team operate like a far larger agency.

We know the 2026 map

We have done the homework on the tariff timeline, Vietnam's data-protection and e-commerce laws, and the post-merger administrative geography. That homework shapes everything from our verification checklist to how we legally source data.

What this is, and isn't. Our strength is regional: it buys us the Southern corridor, not all of Vietnam, and we'd rather be deep where we're strong than thin everywhere. A network earns us access, and access never substitutes for evidence; we built the whole product around that rule.

How we operate

A badge is only worth the discipline behind it. Three rules govern everything we do, and you can hold us to them.

Trust is the product.

Nothing on Saola ranks, badges, or matches except on evidence. We don't sell placement that bends a trust tier; the grading is the whole company, and we won't compromise it to close a sale.

Legally boring, on purpose.

We don't touch gray-market customs data; our intelligence comes from public records, legal US import data, public Vietnamese registries, and documents suppliers share with consent. You can't be trust infrastructure and carry trust debt.

Evidence over relationships, in the score.

Our network opens doors but never adds points; introductions are logged for transparency and excluded from scoring entirely. Tiers are earned with geo-tagged site evidence, verified documents, and corroborated export history, never with who knows whom.

Every tier shows its receipt:

We'll tell you where we are

Saola is an early company, so we won't show you logos we haven't earned or a supplier count we can't stand behind. What we can show is method: real factories, physically visited, with evidence you can inspect. If you work with us now, you're an early partner shaping how this gets built.
